I still remember when I was in secondary school, we had this excursion to some secluded beach for Geography, like any other teenager having fun, few of my friends grab hold of a female classmate and threw her into the water, only to realize a while later her brand new phone was still in her pocket. The few guys were so remorse they kept apologizing to her the whole day. Well, lucky the girl was understanding and the few guys forked out their allowance to buy her a similar phone.
It's very common to hear people around you getting their gadgets soaked in water (normally is into the toilet bowl), and it's even worst when the damage is so bad that it's beyond repair. By the way, most company's warranty do not cover water damages, which makes the matter even worst.

I've heard of rice's capabilities of absorbing moisture, in fact, it's used by professionals when they're restoring artworks which contacted water in some way. However, I've never thought of using it when things get wet.
I doubt I'll ever want to experiment this as I don't wish to wet any of my precious gadgets. Haha. But if (I seriously hope not) I ever do, you can bet that I'll tell you guys the results first hand here. Thinking back, I've never dropped my phone in water before, what about you?
