To my surprise, the writer did not include Venezuela on the list at all. 5 wins (one of the highest attained) and it does not deserve a spot? I started doubting the taste of the writer and the credibility of the list. As I read on, another country took my attention and kind of gave me a little shock. Singapore was on the list too!
"What?!" was my first reaction, I couldn't believe it. This was what he said...
"It’s all about the accent. Singaporean English (Singlish) is at once sophisticated, endearing, cute, and sexy. Somewhere between public school Londoner, New Delhi socialite, and urban Chinese, this is English as it should be spoken.
Singapore’s year round humidity and relative affluence means that the summer range of fashion is constantly updated and the ladies of this micro-state are always a step ahead of it. Fashion-conscious, self aware, and demure, Singapore is smoldering!"
Haha. Smoldering, what a word to describe the female population of Singapore. Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that there aren't any hot girls on this island at all, there are some, I've seen, it's just not really "hot" enough to be compared to the other countries marked on the list like Tokyo and Prague. I mean I've heard people who travel abroad to places like Amsterdam because of their beauties but I've never heard of anyone recommending Singapore as a destination.
And his reason, "it's all about the accent". I never knew words like "la leh loh", which can be heard on almost every Singaporean extra appealing at all, well, not to me. Interestingly, we didn't even make it to any finals in Miss Universe if I'm not wrong.
Well, that came from a website dedicated to on exploring the world's night life and clubbing scene, maybe there are really a lot here, just that I've never had much chance to admire it, I'm not the clubbing sort. By the way, you can view the list here if you're interested to read more.
